Having children is kind of like truth or dare. When the strip turns pink, you are faced with a whole new reality. It is frankly frightening, intimidating, intriguing, and wonderful. Nothing can prepare you for the awesome responsibility, angst and delight over what to do “to be the best parent you can be”.

    It has been my great pleasure for 19 years to work with the new mom straight from the OB’s office with the cotton ball still taped to her arm, flushed with scared anticipation. Fast forward to the 3rd or 4th time- Mom whose most likely comment is, “Yeah, whatever, call me when ______ is in.” No bones or blood involved and she is good. What a difference a few years a few more babies make in your perspective.

    As the blog unfolds, I will take the opportunity to share information with the readers from a variety of sources:  Manufacturers, sales reps, Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association, National Child Safety Boards, medical articles, etc.  The purpose of this information is to inform, educate, question, and even challenge what is considered common knowledge and usage.  Sometimes parents bring concerns and comments to us that I have wanted to share as a topic of interest. Now I can do that.
